FAIRFAX, VA (May 4, 2022) – Fairfax-based nonprofit Britepaths invites the community to attend a special evening of art, wine and philanthropy to provide vital assistance to the Northern Virginia families it serves. Britepaths’ programs stabilize families, help them build resilience and offer supports to children whose families are struggling financially.

“Artful Living” will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2022, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., at the Country Club of Fairfax (5110 Ox Road, Fairfax, VA 22030).

The theme of the event and art show is “Connected.” The evening will include a juried art show featuring works by local artists that will be available for sale, live music by local Latin-jazz band Batida Diferente, appetizers, wine and beer. A live charity auction will offer items including: vacation rentals for beach and mountain getaways; wine and beer tasting experiences; and more.

Guests will also hear stories of resiliency from clients who are working toward financial self-sufficiency with the help of Britepaths’ staff and volunteers.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Britepaths’ programs to provide financial education, coaching and mentoring, job readiness supports and training, emergency food, financial aid and seasonal assistance to working families throughout the area who are struggling to make ends meet.

Admission is $100. Tickets may be purchased at or at the event. Contact 703.273.8829 or for more information.

Britepaths’ Executive Director Lisa Whetzel said, “We chose our theme, ‘Connected,’ in 2019 and had planned to hold Artful Living in April 2020. As with so many events in our lives, the pandemic caused us to postpone the gathering twice. We are so looking forward to reuniting with our community on May 19, and the theme ‘Connected’ is now more relevant than ever.”

“Artful Living is vital to raising funds that will help us assist more families near us who have been struggling due to the pandemic,” Whetzel added. “It is also a heartwarming celebration of art and community that helps local artists receive recognition and sell their works while helping their neighbors. We hope community members will join us for this delightful evening.”

Artful Living is made possible by generous sponsorships from the following organizations and individuals: Human Touch, LLC; Anthem HealthKeepers Plus; MBH Settlement Group; MainStreet Bank; Ken and Linda Kozloff; Apple Federal Credit Union; Printing Ideas; Nothing Bundt Cakes Fair Lakes and Vienna; Christine Hissong, Positive Pathways to Resolution & Success; and Miller Consulting Group.
