DESCRIPTION:Help strengthen food security for Northern Virginia families at Britepaths’ Stuff the Bus Food Drive on September 19th. \nLast year\, our community came together to collect 965 pounds of food\, valued at more than $1\,900. This year\, we’re building on that momentum to help ensure more families have access to nutritious food when household budgets are stretched. \nEvery donation helps stock pantry shelves and gives families more flexibility to manage other essential expenses. With the community’s support\, we can build on last year’s impact and collect even more for our neighbors this September. \nEvent Details: \nSaturday\, September 19\, 10 am – 3 pm\nBraddock District Office\n9002 Burke Lake Road\, Burke\, VA 22015 \nMost Needed Items: \n\nDog food\, dry/kibble\nCat food\, wet or dry/kibble\nCooking oil\nSalt and pepper\nSugar\nFlour and cornmeal\nLow-sugar cereal\nLow-sugar canned fruit\nApplesauce\nPasta\nPasta sauce\nRice\nInstant noodles\nCanned tuna\nCanned chicken and other canned proteins\nCanned soup and pasta\nGranola bars\nBaking mixes\, such as pancake or biscuit mix\n\nAbout Stuff the Bus:  \nFor nearly 16 years\, Fairfax County’s Stuff the Bus program has been a critical resource for local food pantries and families struggling with food insecurity. In partnership with local grocery stores\, volunteers\, and community organizations\, the program collects non-perishable food items and financial donations at various locations throughout the county. This collaboration helps keep the shelves of local pantries and food providers stocked throughout the year.
