We were joined by City of Fairfax Mayor Catherine Read and Councilmembers Jon Stehle and Tom Ross, EDA Commissioner Jeff Hermann, Mackenzie’s owner Josh Alexander and Pathfinder Kitchen Chef Duriel Barnes, OAR NOVA Executive Director Derwin Overton, Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney Jenna Sands and Tess Rollins, Executive Director of the Old Town Fairfax Business Association. Graduates of the program will develop workforce readiness skills and earn a ServSafe Food Handler certification, helping local employers to hire and retain dedicated, skilled employees.
During the evening, we enjoyed music by Nashville recording artist and Washington Area Music Association award-winner Scott Kurt and Sam Whetzel, and delicious appetizers and drinks from Mackenzie’s. And congratulations to our 50-50 raffle winner Chris Gagen! We are grateful to all who came out to celebrate with us and all who donated at the event and throughout the day, making it our most successful #GivingTuesday to date.
