Join Britepaths in supporting families with grocery gift cards and toys for the holiday season! We are seeking volunteers to support our Holiday Program’s Winter Wonderland Fair on Friday, December 12, 3:30-7:00pm, and on Saturday, December 13, 11:00am-5:00pm. This winter-themed celebration will include gift card distribution, SNAP Gap Pantry supplies, a room of toys, a gift-wrapping station for parents to select gifts for their children, crafts and activities for children, and tables from community partners sharing information about resources in our region.

Mandatory Volunteer Training: Attendance for a 1-hour overview session on either Wednesday, December 10, 6-7pm, or Thursday, December 11, 10:30am-11:30am is required.

Volunteers must be 16 years or older, comfortable standing or walking for extended periods, and able to engage respectfully and warmly with diverse families. Volunteers with bilingual skills in Spanish, Farsi, or Dari are highly encouraged to sign up.

Volunteer Roles Include: 

  • Registration/Check-In: Welcome families, verify appointments, and help manage the flow of guests.
  • Pantry Packing: Assemble family-specific care packages including diapers, wipes, and other health and hygiene items, record items distributed, and assist with weighing packs for our records.
  • Event Floaters: Support multiple activity areas:
  • Gift Card Distribution: Assist with distributing pre-prepared envelopes with gift cards to registered families.
  • Toy Distribution: Facilitate distribution of gifts to parents and guardians, helping with selections and keeping the area organized
  • Event Greeter: Warmly welcome families into our office, and let them know how they can walk through the office, what resources are available to them, and where they can pick up the gift cards and toys.
  • The Secret Garden Helpers: Help kids and families select books and fill out a survey once the books are selected.
