Healthy Eating Workshop

Britepaths’ clients enjoyed a Healthy Eating Workshop on August 17, 2019 at the Mason Enterprise Center in Fairfax City. Three Master Food Volunteers from the Virginia Cooperative Extension made a delicious Thai Quinoa Salad with fresh vegetables and herbs. During the demo and tasting, the volunteers shared some ideas for nutritious snacks and tips for working healthy foods into meals and snacks. The group then walked over to the Fairfax Community Market, where our clients were able to shop for fresh fruits and vegetables with their Our Daily Veggie Vouchers at our partner farm stand, Orchard Country Produce and Fruit Farm.

All of our clients were invited to attend. We are grateful to the Virginia Cooperative Extension and their volunteers for lending their time and talents, to Orchard Country Produce for partnering with us for many years to accept Our Daily Veggies at their local farmers market stands, and to FlexProfessionals for arranging and Mason Enterprise Center for lending us the meeting space.
