FAST (Financial Assistance Service Team) Volunteer
FAST (Financial Assistance Service Team) Volunteer will work with financial assistance referrals from Coordinated Services Planning (CSP). CSP is the overarching Fairfax County agency which funnels requests from clients to the appropriate governmental and non-governmental services. CSP social workers professionally screen clients for eligibility. Once eligibility and amounts have been determined, the FAST volunteer will enter referrals into our database, Civi, and complete administrative tasks related to funding the financial assistance grants, including the necessary communications and database management.
The volunteer will handle entering referrals we grant assistance for on either Mondays or Wednesdays, 10 –2 PM. FAST volunteers must be available 2-4 days a month. Training will be completed in person. Once trained, volunteers can complete duties remotely or at our Fairfax office location.
Responsibilities:
- Upload referral information into Civi (Britepaths database)
- Complete all required steps within Civi
- Check referrals that have been entered into referrals by other volunteers
Skills and Abilities:
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Previous experience working with a database
- Experience using email
- Attention to detail
- Be reliable and can work independently
