We had a great workshop on October 19, 2019 at the Financial Empowerment Center at South County with volunteers from the Northern Virginia Society for Human Resources Management (NOVA SHRM), including some from Marymount University's SHRM Student Chapter. It was all about the job interview process, including how to answer tough questions, what employers can and cannot ask, and creating an elevator pitch.
Community Relations Coordinator Martine Devoe led an informative discussion, with the other volunteers offering their advice, opinions and experiences. Then participants chose to work with volunteers on their elevator pitches or one-on-one mock interviews.
We're so grateful to all the volunteers who gave of their time and talents to make this a rewarding experience for our clients.
