Lucero joined Britepaths in June 2025 through the George Mason University Summer Engaged Fellowship. She will serve as our Food Security and Youth Programs Intern, bringing a client-focused approach to Britepaths. Additionally, as a member of the Food Security and Youth Programs team, Lucero will assist in managing our SNAP Gap Pantry and The Secret Garden at Britepaths.

Lucero is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in government and international politics at George Mason University. As a member of the GMU community, Lucero has been involved in the Hispanic and Latine Leadership Alliance, where she works with other student leaders to build a vibrant and inclusive environment for all. Moreover, Lucero will join the George Mason First Gen+ Center to continue educating the community and advocating for underrepresented groups on campus.

Alongside her work on campus, Lucero has taken her work outside of the classroom. She interned in the Consular Section of the Mexican Embassy during the Spring 2025 semester, working with the documentation and administration agency to serve Mexican citizens residing abroad.
