New Clothes and a New Look at Life
“It’s good to know there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. When you’re in the darkest part of your journey, it’s hard to imagine that there’s sun or light.” — Sevana Stone
Some of our moms enjoyed a morning of empowerment on February 29, with an inspirational talk by Britepaths volunteer and local businesswoman Sevana Stone of VersaTel Solutions, a chance to “shop” for new underclothes hosted by BRAWS: Bringing Resources to Aid Women’s Shelters, and free samples of make-up and beauty tips from Mary Kay consultants Pattigene Long and Anna Sempeles. Some of the BRAWS volunteers were from Justice High School’s GirlUp club. Our wonderful volunteer photographer Hernan Vargas was also there to record the day.
This is one of our clients’ favorite Workforce Development workshops. One of them wrote to Workforce Development Manager Jill Beres after the event, “I was going to email you and thank you for the opportunity to attend the workshop. I really enjoyed it. The guest speaker that spoke was so inspirational. I appreciate it so much — that’s what I needed. I could relate to her. Thanks for all Britepaths’ love and support.”
We’re grateful to BRAWS and our volunteers and supporters who made it all happen.
