Service Project: Host a Book Drive

Provide Free Books to Local Children

Help Britepaths nurture a love of reading in children from families in our community experiencing financial hardship by hosting a book drive for The Secret Garden at Britepaths, a cozy, welcoming space in our office where teens can browse and take home free books. From baby board books to young adult novels, it is designed to create positive reading experiences for our youngest clients and visitors, offering an opportunity to explore and take home age-appropriate and culturally relevant stories to add to or start building their own home libraries.

How You Can Help:

We rely on community support to keep The Secret Garden at Britepaths stocked. Hosting a book donation drive for new and like-new books is a meaningful way to support literacy and academic success in our community.

We are especially in need of:

  • Board books and picture books
  • Books written in Spanish, Amharic, Dari, and Pashto
  • Culturally diverse stories
  • Bilingual books (English + another language), which are particularly appreciated by parents who want to improve their English while reading with their children

For many families in our community, books can be a luxury. By providing free books to take home, we help bridge the literacy gap and support a lifelong love of learning. This project is ideal for individuals, families, school groups, scout troops, civic and corporate groups, and school clubs looking to give back in a tangible way.
