Workforce Development Workshop
When you’re working hard to improve your life, feeling your best can really boost your confidence. Britepaths staff was excited to be able to offer our clients some fun perks in addition to workforce resources at a workshop on September 14, 2019.
We had 29 attendees, including some of our clients’ teen daughters. They got to “shop” for new undergarments from our nonprofit partner Bringing Resources to Aid Women’s Shelters (BRAWS), and they enjoyed some samples, a demonstration and beauty tips from Pattigene Long of Mary Kay Cosmetics.
We were also able to offer some professional development and career resources. Samantha and Brittany from Wegmans offered information about their hiring process and career opportunities. Network Up mentor Sevana Stone, owner of business operations management company VersaTel Solutions, talked to clients about how to develop and deliver an “elevator pitch,” and about how important it is to be able to talk about yourself in a concise and positive way when you are in the market for a job.
This workshop was truly about women lifting up other women! We are grateful to BRAWS volunteers and supporters, Pattigene, Wegmans and Sevana for taking time on a Saturday to offer support and encouragement to our families. We’re also grateful to our Board Member Catherine Read for coming out to take photos. Click Here to view our Facebook album.
