Background Information: Would you like to be a community ambassador for Britepaths while helping raise awareness and funds for our programs? Volunteer with Britepaths as our Flea Market Volunteer. Britepaths is seeking community members to serve as Flea Market Volunteers at the Fairfax Funky Flea Market. The Fairfax Funky Flea is a community outdoor flea market located in the heart of Fairfax City, Virginia and is a partner with the City of Fairfax Parks and Rec Department. This is an unpaid volunteer position with Britepaths located in the Fairfax City Hall parking lot at 10455 Armstrong St. Fairfax, VA (behind the City Hall building). 

Position Description: This is an unpaid, part-time position, which requires a minimum of 2 hours of work on Saturday, October 29, 2022. Volunteers must be 18 or older and able to provide their own transportation to the Market. The Flea Market Volunteer helps answer questions about Britepaths, and sells goods to raise funds to support our programs. 

Responsibilities:

  • Must learn about Britepaths’ services and volunteer opportunities
  • Manage the Britepaths table, sell goods, and handle cash donations
  • Assist in setting up the information booth tent, table, and signs. All items will be stored on-site at the designated location.
  • Provide general customer services, such as answering questions about Britepaths and helping customers select a treat of their choice.

Requirements:

  • Friendly and outgoing.
  • Strong customer service skills and experience.
  • Ability to work in an environment requiring flexibility, responsiveness, and multi-tasking.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
